One killed in Ctg blast
A youth was killed and another received grievous injuries when a bomb they were making exploded in the early hours on Monday in Char Chaktai area in the city.
Police said the explosion occurred on the eastern side of Chaktai New Bridge at 3:00am.
The dead was identified as Mohammad Siraj, 28, son of late Nazir Ahmed of the area. The injured Mohammad Sekandar was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Bakolia police said that the youths were making bombs in a nearby field of the bridge when the explosion took place. Both the youths received serious injuries in the explosion.
Police and local people rushed them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where Siraj succumbed to his injuries.
Police arrested Sekandar, who is now under treatment at Ward No 20 at the CMCH.
A case was filed with Bakolia thana.
