Case against Betagi thana OC
A resident of Koruna village in Barguna lodged a case against the local officer-in-charge (OC) and accused the law enforcer of abetting terrorism in the area.
Jagadish Chandra Mallick filed the case against Proshanta Kumar Dey, the OC of Betagi Police Station, with the Cognizance Court-2, Barguna on Sunday.
In the complaint, Jagadish said some local goons allegedly led by Alauddin attacked his house in Koruna village and kept his family members hostage for two days.
The criminals also ransacked his house and looted valuables, it added.
When Jagadish went to Betagi Police Station to lodge a case, the policeman assaulted him and also forced him to file the case dropping Alauddin's name, the complaint alleged.
Later, Jagadish filed another case with the court against the OC and 21 others.
