Pry teachers demand nationalisation of service
The leaders of the association also threatened to lay siege to the Prime Minister's Office on June 19 if their demand goes unheeded.
They will continue the 'siege programme' until their demand is met, they said at a press conference in the city.
The leaders said about 75,800 teachers of 19,575 non-government primary schools across the country are living on meagre salaries.
Association Secretary General M Akkas Ali Sheikh read out a written statement at the press conference. Mohiuddin Khandoker, Abdus Sattar, Emdadul Haque Bablu, Jotish Mondal, Rajib Lochan, Noor Mohammad Patwari and Suresh Chandra Pande were also present.
