An exemplary act of responsibility
Having his wits about him in that testing circumstance when others might have lost their nerves, this boy Monirul acted entirely on his own to signal the railway driver in good time to avert a train tragedy of an immense size. The train was packed with more passengers because most of the other modes of transportation were not in full operation due to the marathon hartal.
This reminds us of the nine-year old Abul Khair's act of valour in 1996 at Hajiganj in Chandpur where he saved a train from an impending accident by similarly signalling the driver of an approaching train to screech to a timely halt. The story was filmed winning a Bangladeshi the prestigious Emmy Award. Monirul's inspiring act can only bring to focus the educative value of the documentary 'We Can Do Also'.
