Shironamhin releases music video of `Kashfuler Shohor Dekha’
Popular rock band Shironamhin released the music video of their newest song earlier today, on their YouTube channel. The song, “Kashfuler Shohor Dekha” is penned by the band’s frontman Ziaur Rahman, and composed by the band’s drummer Kazy Ahmad Shafin. The video is directed by Naimul Banin.

London Bhatiali Festival starts on April 29
Celebrating the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence, London-based cultural organisation Mukto Arts will hold a five-day Bhatiali music festival. The event, titled "A Week for Bhatiali of Bengal”, will feature essays on Bhatiali's heritage by researchers, Bhatiali songs and social media premiere of a short film, along with live painting and music.

In remembrance of Hanif Ahammed, Partha Guha
Noted percussionists Hanif Ahammed and Partha Guha fell victim to a road accident on March 13, 2021. The accident occurred in Chattogram's Mishorai, when a lorry hit their microbus from the opposite side. While Partha died on the spot, Hanif was declared dead in Chattogram Medical College Hospital. The duo had just finished a show in Chandpur, where eminent artistes Imran and Kona also performed. Prominent singers, songwriters, and composers took to social media to express their condolences for the tragic loss.

The Covid-19 pandemic rendered the music industry into disarray for the first few months, one which it tried hard to fight back. Even though the year is musical activities were largely limited to online releases and ‘live’ concerts on social media, we did see a number of notable releases from artistes.

Eddie Van Halen, considered one of rock music's greatest guitar players and a founding member of the hugely successful rock band named after him and his drummer brother, died of cancer on Tuesday, his son has said on Twitter. He was 65.
