RAK Ceramics’ MD to sell 8.85 lakh shares
SAK Ekramuzzaman, sponsor shareholder and managing director of RAK Ceramics Bangladesh, has declared that he is the proprietor of Mohammed Trading, and his company intends to sell 885,000 shares of RAK Ceramics.
The shares will be sold at the prevailing market price through the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange, according to a disclosure yesterday on the DSE website.
Based on Monday’s closing price of Tk 31.40, the share selling amount will be Tk 2.77 crore.
Following the announcement, shares of the ceramics producer declined 1.59 percent to Tk 30.90 to end yesterday’s trading on the DSE floor.
Ekramuzzaman is one of the major local equity investors in RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh). Besides managing the RAK Group’s diversified business interests, he holds a number of other business interests in Bangladesh.
He is also a board member of RAK Power Pvt and RAK Security and Services, both subsidiaries of RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh), according to the company’s annual report.
RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) reported a net loss of Tk 39.59 crore for the year ended December 31, 2025, sharply higher than a net loss of Tk 2.73 crore a year earlier, as higher finance costs eroded profitability despite double-digit revenue growth, according to its annual report.
Incorporated in 1998, RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) operates as a ceramics brand for tiles and sanitaryware, leveraging global parentage from UAE-based RAK Ceramics.
Its plant is located in Gazipur, 60km from Dhaka. The company operates 300 sales touchpoints across demand hubs in Bangladesh, supported by a distribution network of 150 dealers and sub-dealers nationwide.
