Chattogram Port posted record performances across all key operational indicators in FY2025-26, with container and cargo handling, vessel arrivals, and revenue all reaching historic highs amid growing trade volumes and improved efficiency, according to data from Chittagong Port Authority (CPA).

According to statistics released by CPA today, the country's busiest seaport handled 3.52 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of containers in FY2025-26, up 6.76 percent from 3.30 million TEUs in the previous fiscal year.

Cargo handling also reached a new milestone, rising 5.36 percent year-on-year to 137.74 million tonnes, while the number of oceangoing vessels calling at the port increased to 4,324, up from 4,077 a year earlier.

CPA attributed the record performance to expanding trade activities, improved operational efficiency, and ongoing infrastructure modernisation projects.

The average turnaround time for container vessels fell to 2.38 days in FY2025-26 from 2.58 days in the previous fiscal year.

The port's revenue climbed to Tk 6,629 crore, compared with Tk 5,366 crore in FY2024-25.

Operating expenses declined to around Tk 1,951 crore from Tk 2,388 crore, saving about Tk 437 crore.
