Jamuna Bank signs pacts with BB for three refinance schemes

Jamuna Bank PLC has signed participation agreements with Bangladesh Bank under the central bank’s refinance schemes for the development of the ICT sector, export diversification, and establishment of green industry and green factory buildings, aimed at facilitating financing support for its customers.

Mirza Elias Uddin Ahmed, managing director and CEO of Jamuna Bank PLC, and AKM Nurun Nabi, director of the Sustainable Finance Department of Bangladesh Bank, signed the agreements at the central bank’s head office in Dhaka recently, according to a press release.

Under the arrangements, Jamuna Bank’s eligible customers will be able to access refinance facilities in line with Bangladesh Bank’s applicable guidelines and eligibility criteria.

The schemes are aimed at expanding financing for the ICT sector, supporting export diversification, and promoting environmentally sustainable industrial development. Mohammad Prashanta Samir, head of the Sustainable Finance Unit, and Md Syful Islam, assistant vice-president of Jamuna Bank PLC, were also present.
