Mercantile Bank organises training for management trainee officers

Mercantile Bank PLC has launched its foundation training course for the 15th batch of newly recruited management trainee officers (MTOs) at its training institute (MBTI) in Dhaka.

A total of 50 MTOs are participating in the comprehensive training programme, which is designed to prepare the next generation of banking leaders.

Mati Ul Hasan, managing director of the bank, inaugurated the course as the chief guest, according to a press release.

In his address, he emphasised the critical role of professionalism, integrity and adaptability in today’s rapidly evolving financial environment.

He urged the trainees to cultivate a customer-centric mindset, engage actively in continuous learning and apply their acquired knowledge in practice to drive the bank’s future growth.

The extensive training curriculum is strategically structured to equip the new officers with the essential competencies required for successful banking careers.

SM Salim Uddin, head of training and development at the bank, presided over the event, while Muhammad Miaraz Hossen Gazi, a faculty member of MBTI, moderated it. Shahin Akther, another faculty member of MBTI, also attended the programme.

Md Zakir Hossain, deputy managing director and chief risk officer; Shamim Ahmed, deputy managing director and chief anti-money laundering compliance officer; Md Zahid Hossain, deputy managing director and chief business officer; and Shah Md Sohel Khurshid, deputy managing director and chief commercial officer, were also present at the programme.
