Midland Bank PLC (MDB) recently signed an agreement with SahajMobile BD Limited, a Bangladesh-based fintech company, to enable customers to purchase mobile devices from designated SahajMobile merchant points through the bank’s e-loan facility.

Mohammad Rashadul Anwar, coordinator of the retail distribution division and head of the public relations division at the bank, and Abu Al Motalib, director of the fintech company, signed the agreement in Dhaka, according to a press release.

Under the agreement, eligible customers can purchase mobile devices from designated SahajMobile merchant points by availing themselves of MDB’s e-loan facility, subject to the bank’s applicable terms, conditions and approval process.

The partnership combines Midland Bank’s digital lending facility with SahajMobile’s merchant network to make consumer financing more accessible and convenient. It is also expected to encourage wider adoption of digital financial services.
