Mutual Trust Bank to provide API-driven cash management to CDBL

Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has signed an agreement with Central Depository Bangladesh PLC (CDBL) for cash management services.

Under the arrangement, CDBL will utilise MTB’s integrated, API-driven cash management services to manage all types of payments and online collections through MTB eBank.

Transaction approvals can be conveniently completed through biometric authentication on the go using the MTB eBank app — the first of its kind in the local banking industry.

Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director and CEO of the bank, and Md Abdul Mutaleb, managing director and CEO of CDBL, signed the agreement at a ceremony held recently at MTB Centre in Gulshan-1, Dhaka, according to a press release.

Chowdhury Akhtar Asif, additional managing director and chief business officer; Md Shamsul Islam, deputy managing director and head of treasury division; Mohammad Mamun Faruk, deputy managing director and head of wholesale banking division; AKM Tareq, deputy managing director and head of branch banking division; Md Ashik Iqbal Khan, divisional head of cash management and transaction banking; and Md Rozar Ibna Azad, head of communication department, attended the event.

Among others, Mohammad Shahidul Islam, chief financial officer and company secretary of CDBL; Md Tohabin Huq, general manager of inspection, compliance and legal affairs; Raquibul Islam Chowdhury, general manager of application development and VAS; Jayanta Biswnu Mondal, senior assistant general manager of F&A; and Abdullah Al Fahad, manager, were also present at the signing ceremony.
