Southeast Bank holds regional conference in Chattogram
Southeast Bank PLC recently organised the “Regional Conference 2026” for the Chattogram region to review business performance, address operational challenges and set a roadmap for sustainable growth.
Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, managing director and CEO of the bank, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest at its Agrabad branch in the port city, according to a press release.
In his remarks, Khalid urged branch managers to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, improve customer service and identify promising customer segments to expand the bank’s retail banking business.
He said the bank is focusing on targeted business initiatives, reducing non-performing loans (NPLs), strengthening loan recovery, expanding its retail banking footprint and increasing stable, low-cost deposits.
He also called on employees to work with sincerity, innovative thinking, professionalism and accountability to achieve the bank’s strategic objectives.
The conference reviewed the bank’s business performance and operational activities in the Chattogram region up to June 2026 against the approved budget.
Discussions covered budget achievement, NPL recovery strategies, loan recovery plans, branch-level targets and opportunities to expand retail banking. Particular emphasis was placed on growing home loan, personal loan and credit card portfolios.
NPL recovery was identified as a top priority. Branch managers were advised to implement realistic recovery plans, strengthen engagement with borrowers and take timely legal measures when necessary.
