Four get Kazi Mahbubullah Award

Four personalities have been selected for "Kazi Mahbubullah Award" of Begum Zebunnessa and Kazi Mahbubullah Janakalyan Trust this year for their contributions in different fields.

They are Bangladesh National Cricket Team Captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza for sports, Anisul Hoque for literature and journalism, Prof Haseena Khan of Dhaka University for science and Prof AK Azad Chowdhury for promoting higher education, says a press release.

They will be given crests, certificates and a cheque for Tk 1 lakh each.

Last year, poet Asad Chowdhury, The Daily Observer Associate Editor Syed Badrul Ahsan, theatre and drama personality Ataur Rahman and freedom fighter and linguist Jamil Chowdhury received the award.
