India to host S Asian disaster management exercise tomorrow

Rescuers and other officials from Bangladesh and seven other Saarc countries will begin a three-day First South Asian Annual Disaster Management Exercise in India tomorrow.

Besides Bangladesh, the exercise is going to have participation of delegations from Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka at a place near New Delhi.

Meanwhile, a daylong SAARC Regional Workshop on sharing best practices on "Disaster Risk Reduction" will be held in New Delhi on November 27.
