Nazrul Barsho cultural competition begins in Tangail

The National Cultural Competition on Nazrul was inaugurated in Tangail today (Monday) as part of a nationwide initiative marking Nazrul Barsho.

The Tangail district administration and Zila Shilpakala Academy jointly organised the programme at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

A discussion and cultural programme were held on the opening day, with Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque in the chair.

Additional Superintendent of Police Md Rabiul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Laila Anjuman Banu, Tangail Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahin Mia and students from various educational institutions attended the inauguration.

Students from primary schools and kindergartens, secondary and technical schools, madrasas, colleges and universities will participate in the competition.

The competition includes Nazrul Sangeet, recitation of selected poems by Kazi Nazrul Islam, drawing, solo acting, solo dance, Hamd and Naat, public speaking and essay writing.
