Nusraat Faria, Badhan team up for new film ‘Lojja’
Nusraat Faria has signed a new film titled “Lojja”, in which she will share the screen with acclaimed actress Azmeri Haque Badhan. The film is being jointly produced by Impress Telefilm and Jaaz Multimedia and will be directed by M H Khokon.
The announcement came on September 8, Faria’s 31st birthday. She had shared a post on social media shortly before midnight on Monday, writing, “Will be Officially 31 at 12am: still cute, still chaotic, just better accessorized.”
The signing ceremony for “Lojja” was held at the Channel i office last Saturday. Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Impress Telefilm Limited and Channel i, and Abdul Aziz, owner of Jaaz Multimedia, attended the event along with others associated with the project.
Abdul Aziz has written the story of “Lojja”. According to the producers, shooting is scheduled to begin on September 20. The film is planned for a theatrical release next year and will later be released on the OTT platform iScreen.
The makers have not yet revealed details about the story or the characters played by Faria and Badhan. However, Abdul Aziz said that “Lojja” is a socially conscious film. “We have not decided on the release date yet,” he said.
Badhan, known for her performances in films such as “Rehana Maryam Noor” and “Khufiya”, has established herself as one of Bangladesh’s prominent contemporary actresses. She received international recognition for “Rehana Maryam Noor”, which premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the 74th Cannes Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Faria is also completing work on her web film “Lapatta”. Directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy, the project has one song sequence left to shoot. Once that is completed, the shooting will be wrapped. “Lapatta” is scheduled to premiere on iScreen in October.
