Bappa Mazumder and Masud Hasan Ujjal team up for new music video

Singer and composer Bappa Mazumder has teamed up with filmmaker Masud Hasan Ujjal for a new song, “Gole Jawa Shomoy”, released with a music video on Saturday night.

Mazumder wrote, composed and performed the song, while Ujjal directed its accompanying video.

The collaboration brings together two established figures from the country's cultural scene. Mazumder has been active in music for more than three decades as a singer, lyricist, composer and music director, while Ujjal is primarily known for his work as a filmmaker and director, although he has also been involved in music.

Mazumder has recently been writing lyrics for some of his own songs. Throughout his career, he has worked with numerous lyricists, but said he eventually felt the need to put some of his own thoughts into words.

Ujjal, who does not regularly direct music videos, was drawn to the project after hearing Mazumder's song and decided to take on the visual direction.

“Gole Jawa Shomoy” follows Mazumder's recent release “Buro Nabiker Golpo”, which was also written and composed by the singer. He plans to continue releasing songs created from his own words and compositions.
