Megastar Shakib Khan’s film “Rockstar” is set to make its OTT debut on Chorki on July 23. The film will begin streaming from 12 am on July 23 (midnight of July 22) as a Chorki Exclusive.

The film is directed by Azman Rusho. It is produced by Anjan Chowdhury Pintu and Sun Motion Pictures Limited.

Speaking about the OTT release, director Azman Rusho said that many viewers had already seen the film in cinemas. He added that the streaming release would now let audiences at home and abroad watch it too. He said reaching a wider audience through Chorki was something he wanted as a filmmaker.

Executive producer Ajoy Kumar Kundu said many people missed the chance to watch "Rockstar" in cinemas for various reasons. He said those viewers could now watch it at home, at a time that suits them. He called this a happy outcome for everyone involved, and noted that fans would be able to revisit their favourite scenes as often as they liked.

"Rockstar" was one of the most talked-about films of the Eid-ul-Adha season. Following the release of its teaser, Shakib Khan's varied looks in the film created a stir among fans on social media. His role as a musician also generated strong interest among audiences. Cinema-goers praised the film's scenes, Shakib Khan's performance, and the storyline built around the friendship between the characters Agun and Aslam.

Alongside Shakib Khan, the film stars Sabila Nur, Tangia Zaman Methila, Sunidhi Nayak, Pantha Kanai, Tariq Anam Khan, Rosey Siddique, Dilara Zaman, and Quazi Sabir.

Director Azman Rusho said he built the story by drawing on the real-life experiences of rock stars, as well as his own memories from his days as a musician. Rather than a conventional action hero or gangster, Shakib Khan plays a musician grappling with the real struggles and highs and lows of that life. He reportedly lost weight to prepare for the role.

The screenplay is written by Nusrat Maati, with dialogue by Ayman Asib Shadhin and Samiul Bhuiyan. The film features several songs, all written and composed by Ahmed Hasan Sunny, who also lent his voice to the soundtrack. Music direction is by Jahid Nirob.
