‘The Office’ star Lucy Davis diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer

British actress Lucy Davis, best known for playing Dawn Tinsley in the original UK version of “The Office”, has revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, which has spread to her bones.

Davis shared the diagnosis in an Instagram post, saying she was diagnosed a year and a half ago after noticing a tiny hard spot that she almost did not get checked.

“It wasn’t a ‘lump’ as such; rather a kind of hard spot. Really tiny. I almost didn’t bother getting it checked,” she wrote, while urging others to go for regular check-ups.

“A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which has metastasized to my bones,” Davis revealed. “Specifically to my spine, right hip, and my ribs. The cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo.”

The actress also opened up about the physical toll of the illness, saying the pain “can really be something else”. She explained that standing and walking for long periods can be difficult and that she sometimes needs to use a wheelchair.

Despite the diagnosis, Davis said she is trying to spend the time ahead enjoying her life and finding lessons in the experience.

“As of now, I’m trying to live out whatever might be left of my life in as fun a way as I possibly can,” she wrote. “I always like to find the teachable moments in anything negative that happens. And cancer has not disappointed in that regard; there’s a lot I have learned from it, and I’m grateful for that.”

Davis starred as receptionist Dawn Tinsley in the original British version of “The Office”. Her character’s romance with Tim Canterbury, played by Martin Freeman, became one of the show’s central storylines. Dawn later served as the model for Jenna Fischer’s Pam Beesly in the American adaptation.
