Why did no one from the film fraternity go to receive Pori Moni?

Film actor Pori Moni was released from Kashimpur Jail earlier today, four weeks after the RAB arrested her. Her lawyer and uncle went to pick her up. However, no one from the film fraternity was present with her today.

"No one from our association went to pick up Pori Moni. I had a family emergency, as my mother is currently hospitalised. On the other hand, Misha bhai (Misha Sawdagar), our President, is busy at a shoot outside Dhaka. Nevertheless, as an artiste, I am glad that Pori Moni has been released," shared Zayed Khan, General Secretary, Bangladesh Film Artistes Association.

"It is good to hear that Pori Moni got bail," said Shaheen Sumon, General Secretary, Bangladesh Film Directors Association. "None of us went to pick her up. I am shooting outside Dhaka. If I was not shooting, perhaps we could have done something."

Pori Moni is now at her Banani residence. She was arrested in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
