Renowned actress and Rabindra Sangeet artiste Daisy Ahmed will have a pacemaker installed on her chest today after her pulse rate started to drop on Monday.

The news was confirmed to The Daily Star yesterday by her daughter, Oindrila Ahmed.

"A few days ago, my mother's condition started to improve when the doctors removed excess water from her lungs. But after her condition started to deteriorate on Monday, the doctor decided to implant a pacemaker" mentions Oindrila.

"As her pulse rate started to fall rapidly, we had to immediately make the decision. Initially, we planned on taking her to India for installing the pacemaker in her heart," she added.

Daisy Ahmed had lost consciousness on September 4. The actress was rushed to the hospital after suffering from breathing difficulties and low oxygen levels the following day.

"I lost my father a long time ago, I don't want to lose my mother right now. Please do pray for her quick recovery, "Daisy Ahmed's eldest daughter Tahsin Farzana Tilottoma said to The Daily Star.

The artiste is under the supervision of Dr. Kaisar Nasrullah Khan.

Daisy Ahmed is the wife of late eminent actor Bulbul Ahmed. Her daughter, Oindrila Ahmed, is a popular actress, while her sister Laila Hasan is a renowned dancer.
