Shooting for biopic on Bangabandhu begins in Dhaka

Shooting for eminent Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal's biopic on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has begun in Dhaka, after the Mumbai schedule concluded in April this year.  

Popular actor Arifin Shuvoo will portray the role of Bangabandhu in this film, along with Nusrat Imrose Tisha as Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa, and Nusraat Faria as Sheikh Hasina, among many other noted actors.

Raisul Islam Asad, who will play the role of Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani in the Bangladesh-India joint production, has shot for two days in Dhaka already. The Ekushey Padak-winning actor shared that he is delighted to be a part of such a historic film.

Meanwhile, Chanchal Chowdhury, who will portray the role of Sheikh Lutfar Rahman between the ages of 45 and 65, has completed shooting his scenes.

Khairul Alam Sabuj will play an older Sheikh Lutfar Rahman. He has shot for a key scene, and has few more days on his schedule.

Moreover, eminent actress Dilara Zaman, who will portray the role of Sayera Khatun, will begin shooting for the film from December.

Siam Ahmed and Riaz, who will play the roles of Tajuddin Ahmad and Shamsul Huq respectively, have also been shooting. Siam, Chanchal, and Shuvoo have filmed a scene together.

"We hope to finish the project on a positive note. I ask for everyone's best wishes," shares Arifin Shuvoo.

The film is slated to release in March 2022.
