The man, who was killed in a terror attack in front of the Finsbury Park Mosque in London four days ago, was a British-Bangladeshi, London police confirmed yesterday.

The victim, 51-year-old Makram Ali, was originally from Sylhet. He died from multiple injuries, Bangladesh High Commission in London said in a press release.

His family issued a statement saying it wanted everyone to pray for peace, not any retaliation.

On June 19, a van ploughed into a crowd of Muslims near the Finsbury Park Mosque, leaving Ali dead and 10 others wounded.

Darren Osborne, 47-year-old van driver from Cardiff, was charged with “terrorism-related murder and attempted murder” over the attack.
