Young learners spent a joyful day as they took part in amusing interactions at English language fairs held at five schools in Noakhali, Lalmonirhat and Munshiganj districts yesterday.
Under English in Schools (EIS) programme, The Daily Star and mobile operator Robi jointly organised the fairs in coordination with the education ministry. Adcomm Ltd is the creative and event partner of the fair.
Students of Senbag Government Pilot High School and Senbag Government Girls High School under Senbag upazila of Noakhali District joined the English language fair held at Senbag Government Pilot High School auditorium in the morning, reports our correspondent.
Md Solaman Headmaster of Senbag Government Pilot High School inaugurated the programme at around 11:00am. Following screening of Lion king, a globally renowned movie, over 250 students participated in spot quiz, vocabulary test and situation based question answer-all based on the movie. Prizes were distributed among the winners of different competitions at the end of the programme. Robi representatives Kazi Russel and Kazi Faysal coordinated the programme.
In Lalmonirhat, Over 300 students of Hatibandha Adarsha High School and Hatibandha Lokman Hossain High School took part in the English Language fair held on Hatibandha Adarsha High School premises yesterday.
Mahatab Uddin, headmaster of Hatibandha Adarsha High School, opened the fair. Robi Area Manager Shakil Jahan was also present, according to our correspondent.
The students participation in spot quiz, vocabulary test, one word question, and quick questions and role play. Prizes were distributed among the winners of different competitions at the end of the fair.
Our Munshiganj correspondent reported that the English language fair at Rusdi High School in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj district saw lively participation of over 150 students of the school.
Md Mizanur Rahman Sheikh, headmaster of the school, inaugurated the fair.
After watching the globally renowned movie Lion King, students participated in spot quiz, vocabulary test, one word question, and quick questions --all based on the movie. Selected students also took part in extempore speech on different topics and role-play.
Prizes were distributed among the winners of different events at the end of the fair.
