Apple unveils Apple Watch Series 12

Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Series 12, the latest version of its main smartwatch line, during its “Surprise and shine” event in Cupertino.

The Series 12 succeeds last year’s Series 11, which introduced 5G connectivity, hypertension notifications, sleep scoring and improved battery life. Apple has kept the starting price at $399, avoiding the price increases that have affected several of its other products this year.

The new watch is among the first major products launched under chief executive John Ternus, who took over from Tim Cook on 1 September after previously leading Apple’s hardware engineering division. Apple is continuing to reveal details of the Series 12 during the event.
