U-19 Tigers to make two Oman trips in a month
Bangladesh Under-19 team will make two trips to Oman within a month, first for a five-match youth ODI series against Afghanistan and then for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup.
According to a BCB official, the junior Tigers are set to travel to Oman on Saturday for the bilateral series, with the matches scheduled for October 13, 15, 18, 20 and 23 at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-member squad for the series on Thursday, with Farid Hasan Faysal named captain.
After completing the series, the team will return home before travelling to Oman again on November 2 for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to begin on November 5.
Bangladesh, champions of the 2023 and 2024 editions, have been drawn in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia. They will begin their campaign against Afghanistan on the opening day of the tournament.
They will then face Sri Lanka on November 7 before completing their group-stage campaign against Malaysia on November 9.
Group A comprises India, Pakistan, the UAE and Nepal.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for November 12, while the final will be held on November 14.
