Raphinha, Vinicius strike as Brazil beat Australia 4-2

Raphinha and Vinicius Junior struck from penalties to help Brazil beat Australia 4-2 in their second international friendly in Brisbane today. 

Brazil went into the second half with the score tied at 2-2, but the five-time world champions ensured a convincing victory by the time of the final whistle as Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius scored in the 69th and the 80th minutes of the game, respectively.

Earlier, Raphinha converted from the spot after Harry Souttar brought down Danilo in the box in the stoppage time of the first half.

Brazil started brightly and took an early lead, but Australia responded strongly and turned the game around. The Socceroos found plenty of joy out wide and made the most of their attacking opportunities.

Alessandro Circati brought Australia level with a curling header from a Connor Metcalfe before Metcalfe himself finished off a neat team move to put Australia 2–1 ahead.

Raphinha’s penalty just before the break restored parity.

Brazil were held to a 1-1 draw by Australia in Townsville last Friday, with Rayan rescuing the Selecao with a 95th-minute header.
