Chittagong City notch maiden top-flight win, Brothers finally off the mark
Newcomers Chittagong City FC beat Rahmatganj MFS 3-1 in Gopalganj to secure their maiden top-flight victory, while Brothers Union also came from behind to thrash Fakirerpool YMC 4-1 in Munshiganj in the Federation Cup on Tuesday.
The results lifted both sides to four points from two matches in Group A, with Brothers topping the six-team table on goal difference. The victory was also their first in five matches this season.
Chittagong City, who held Abahani to a 1-1 draw in their opening match, fell behind in the 39th minute when Sakib Bepari scored for Rahmatganj at Gopalganj District Stadium. The port city outfit responded after the break, with Jafar Iqbal converting a penalty in the 57th minute. Japanese winger Kenta Hara put them ahead in the 65th minute before Syed Hossain Sayem sealed their landmark win five minutes later.
