Athletics federation bans Jannat, Kabita from women's events after gender tests
The Bangladesh Athletics Federation has permanently banned athletes Jannat Begum and Kabita Roy from competing in the women's category and cancelled medals and national records they had won, following medical examinations that the federation said found both athletes had 46,XY Differences of Sex Development (DSD).

European Athletics and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) introduced guidelines on Tuesday aimed at preventing the sexualisation of female athletes through camera angles and the use of replays.

Two records were broken on the opening day. Mushfiq Hossain of BKSP set a new mark in the field events by clearing 39.58 metres, improving on the previous record of 38.22 metres set by Masum Ahmed of Pabna in 2019.
