National ‘B’ Chess regional phase gets underway

The Dhaka regional phase of the 50th National ‘B’ Chess Championship 2026 began at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall today, with 108 players taking part.

Organised by the Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) and sponsored by Struxel Group, the Region-1 event features players from Dhaka city, 10 districts of Dhaka Division and one armed forces team.

BCF treasurer Farhadur Rahman and federation member Monjur Alam formally inaugurated the competition by making the opening moves on the chessboard.

A total of 15 players from the regional phase will qualify for the 50th National ‘B’ Chess Championship 2026.
