Formula IUT selected for FSUK Sim Racing Series final round in the UK
Formula IUT has secured a place in the final round of the Formula Student UK (FSUK) Sim Racing Series, set to take place during Formula Student Week 2026 at the headquarters of the Atlassian Williams F1 Team in Grove, Oxfordshire. The main Formula Student UK 2026 event is scheduled to be held from July 15 to 19 at the Silverstone Circuit.
With this major milestone, Formula IUT has become the first Bangladeshi team to qualify for the finals of the FSUK Sim Racing Series. The sim racing team consisted of Mahtab Mahdi Nihal, Ahmed Nur Fatin, Md Nafidur Rahman Akhand, Tamim Mahrush Naser, and Mohammad Mahriz Mashir Hossain.

This year’s competition was the biggest one yet, featuring 283 drivers from 73 Formula Student teams representing 19 countries across four continents.
The FS Sim Racing Series is organised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) as part of Formula Student and is open to Formula Student teams from around the world. Teams compete in monthly online races with engineering challenges that test their approaches to vehicle setup, racing strategy, and performance analysis.

The series was first launched in 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdowns as an alternative to the live Formula Student finals at Silverstone. Since then, it has grown into a yearly held international event supported by Williams ESports. The competition begins in November and ends with an in-person final during Formula Student week at Silverstone.
Founded in 1847, IMechE is a UK-based professional engineering organisation focused on advancing mechanical engineering education, professional development, and innovation.
