Congress meets amid Jogi tape controversy

All the members of the CWC and its special invitees, members of political affairs committee, chief ministers of party ruled states as also those who lost the assembly polls are attending the crucial meeting to analyse threadbare the various causes leading to worst ever debacle of the party.

AICC general secretary in-charge of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Ambika Soni has offered to resign taking moral responsibility for the party's drubbing in the two states.

Though the party has ruled out any major changes in the organisational set-up, mood of a section of party leadership was hostile towards some leaders handing the affairs of the three states and may demand restructuring of whole party set up to prepare the party for the next polls, sources said.

The CWC may also discuss strategies on alliances with like-minded secular parties at national level as declared in the Shimla and Srinagar conclave of the party but could not do so resulting in its worst ever defeat.
