'Resist destructive politics of AL'

BSS, Dhaka
Mayor Sadique Hossain Khoka yesterday asserted that an elected government cannot be ousted from its office unconstitutionally.

Addressing a joint meeting of BNP Dhaka city unit and its front organisations, he said the Awami League is conspiring against the government, but the people do not support them.

Mayor Khoka, also the president of city BNP, said Awami League is trying to frighten the people by issuing an ultimatum to topple the government. But the BNP and the people are ready to give a befitting reply to their conspiracy, he warned.

He called on the party leaders and workers to forge resistance against the destructive politics of Awami League.

City BNP General Secretary Abdus Salam, Nasir Uddin Ahmed Pintu MP, Ekhlas Uddin Mollah, Kazi Abul Basar, Samsul Huda, Chowdhury Alam and Ali Asgar Matabbar also spoke.

Khoka said the much-talked-about siege programme of Awami League was a total failure as the people rejected it with hatred. People's support cannot be gained through killing and destruction, he added.
