Bangladeshis in UK to help flood victims

UNB, Dhaka
Expatriate Bangladeshis living in UK will open an account with Sonali Bank in London to provide assistance for the flood-affected people in Bangladesh.

This was discussed at a meeting at the Bangladesh High Commission in London on Wednesday. Leaders and representatives of different political, professional and welfare organisations attended the meeting. High Commissioner AH Mofazzal Karim presided.

The account will be opened so that the money to be collected for the flood victims could be deposited for subsequent transfer to Bangladesh. The meeting called upon all expatriates irrespective of party affiliation to contribute for the flood victims.

A committee with presidents and general secretaries of all organisations was also formed, says a message received here yesterday.
