Rafeed Elahi Chowdhury is the Lead of Content and Product Growth at The Business Standard. He won the title for Rising Star, under the Content category in the Global Media Industry 2021 at 30 under 30 Awards by International News Media Association (INMA).  Star Youth, The Daily Star recently caught up with him to learn more about his journey.

International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) is an annual competition for secondary school students that tests their skills in all major areas of geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, terrestrial astronomy, and environmental sciences. Organised majorly by the International GeoScience Education Organisation, the competition consists of written and practical tests, and several multinational team based events.

After 543 days of closure, schools and colleges across the country reopened earlier this week with a festive atmosphere, as students returned to campuses after more than a year of online classes. Being a first-year student of Mugda Medical College, I am more than glad to resume my MBBS courses in-person, given that remote learning was pretty hectic.

Founded in 2016, Dreamunteers is a social organisation that intends to create a platform for rural communities to have sustainable and self-reliant ways of living. The founder of the organisation, Nibrasul Alam, a student of Notre Dame College, was selected for the Sir Fazle Hasan Abed Ashoka Young Changemakers 2020.

Urmeeta Dutta completed her SSC and HSC examinations from Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. After sitting for the admission tests, she made it to both Dhaka Medical College (DMC) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). “According to my family’s choice, I decided to study in DMC. I completed my MBBS in 2015 and internship training in 2016,” she shared. She stood first in all three professional exams and for this result, she received the Prime Minister Gold Medal Award.

Footsteps Bangladesh, a social organisation, intends to address various challenges such as access to safe and clean drinkable water, sanitation, waste management and disaster response to create vital development tools for underprivileged communities. The organisation conducted a range of activities to support underprivileged communities during the pandemic.

American Concrete Institute (ACI), a Michigan-based international professional organisation, recently hosted the Concrete Projects Competition, an annual event for undergraduate students from all across the world. This year, it was organised virtually.

Young adult (YA) literature can be great sources of comfort, but they also bring their fresh and unique perspectives on issues concerning identity, love, and friendship, themes that are universal and pertinent to all age-groups. Be it a sweet romance, or a gripping suspense, these stories cover it all. 

The book is a complete treatise on the development of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).

Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) concluded their Youth Leadership Summit on August 7, 2021. The event was supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the UK. Through a number of planeries and workshops, the summit facilitated an intergenerational dialogue on issues and challenges that limit the youth’s inclusive participation in public, private, and civil sectors.

CrossRoads Initiative is a platform that connects Bangladeshi university students both at home and abroad, with high-school students to build peer-to-peer mentorships. Founded by Sadid Hasan in 2019, the organisation intends to help prospective university applicants with proper resources and guidance. The mentors provide students with online and offline support for preparation in SAT and IELTS tests, as well as university admission in general.

SK Shoaibur Rahaman founded Agri-Science Society (AgSS), a non-profit agricultural organisation, in 2019. Being a student of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, he has been actively working with farmers, students, and organisations to promote agricultural digitalisation.
