BAB briefs president on the banking sector

A delegation of the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) briefed President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on the current state of the country’s banking sector and the key challenges facing the industry at a meeting at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Thursday.

The delegation, led by BAB Chairman Abdul Hai Sarker, included Vice Chairmen Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Rashed Ahmed Chowdhury and Sharif Zahir, along with chairmen of various private commercial banks.

During the meeting, the bankers discussed the sector’s challenges and the measures needed to address them, according to a press release.

The delegation reaffirmed the commitment of BAB member banks to strengthening stability, promoting good governance and rebuilding public confidence in the banking system.

It also expressed the banks’ commitment to supporting the country’s economic growth.

The meeting concluded in a cordial and constructive atmosphere.
