Shimanto Bank donates microbus to SUST

Shimanto Bank PLC has donated a microbus to Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST).

Md Nurul Azim, managing director and chief executive officer of the bank, handed over the dummy key of the microbus to Prof Md Khairul Islam, vice-chancellor of SUST, on the university campus in Sylhet recently, according to a press release.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof Khairul said, “The microbus will add a new dimension to the university’s administrative and educational communication. This initiative by Shimanto Bank is highly commendable.”

“Our students are extremely talented; they will be capable and eager to work on implementing the forward-looking banking and technology plans you are envisioning,” he added, praising the bank’s nationwide activities.

In his speech, the bank’s MD expressed his hope of expanding the scope of the bank’s social welfare and banking activities in the future, playing a leading role in the welfare of the university, and further strengthening the relationship between the bank and the university.

Colonel Mohammad Salahuddin, sector commander (Sylhet) of Border Guard Bangladesh, was also present, along with deans of various faculties, the registrar, transport administrator, provosts, director of accounts, assistant proctors and other university officials, as well as senior officials from the bank.
