Mahbubur Rahman re-elected as ICC Bangladesh president

Mahbubur Rahman, chairman and chief executive officer of ETBL Holdings Limited, has been re-elected as the president of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh for a two-year term.

Mahbubur is the vice-chairman of the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) and chairman of Eastland Insurance PLC. He is a former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

Rupali Chowdhury and AK Azad were elected vice-presidents of the chamber.

Rupali is the president of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), while Azad is a former president of the FBCCI and managing director of Ha-Meem Group.

The board unanimously elected the leadership team for the upcoming term, according to a press release issued by ICC Bangladesh yesterday.

ICC, the world business organisation, is headquartered in Paris and has a physical presence in more than 170 countries, representing 45 million companies and more than 1 billion workers worldwide.

Globally, one in every three workers depends on ICC members for their livelihood.

ICC is the only private-sector, non-sovereign organisation granted permanent observer status at the United Nations General Assembly.
