Naser Ezaz Bijoy resigns as CEO of StanChart
Naser Ezaz Bijoy is stepping down from his role as chief executive of Standard Chartered Bangladesh after serving for nearly nine years.
The resignation is subject to regulatory approval, the multinational bank said in a statement yesterday, adding that he will continue his employment with the bank in a different role.
“Naser has decided to focus on other priorities, due to personal reasons, until his next role is announced in due course,” the bank said.
He will hand over his CEO responsibilities to Md Enamul Huque, currently the bank’s chief risk officer and senior credit officer for Bangladesh, who will act as interim CEO, it added.
StanChart, which has an operational presence in 54 countries, appointed Naser as CEO in November 2017. He replaced Abrar A Anwar, who took on the role of CEO of SCB Malaysia.
Naser, who has been with SCB for more than 33 years, has held a number of roles in corporate banking, risk and audit across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
