Bangladesh’s exports rise 8.54% in September
Merchandise shipments from Bangladesh grew by 8.54 percent year-on-year to $3.93 billion in September this year, thanks to the gradual recovery of garment exports.
On a month-on-month basis, September's export earnings were, however, 11.11 percent lower than those of the previous month, according to data released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) today.
Also, in the July-September quarter, exports grew by 6.34 percent year-on-year to $13.09 billion.
Bangladesh’s merchandise exports continued to demonstrate resilience and competitiveness in the global market, the EPB said in a statement.
The readymade garment (RMG) sector, the backbone of Bangladesh’s export economy, maintained its leading position and achieved encouraging growth, the EPB also said.
