Mesbha Uddin appointed chairman of BUFT board of trustees

Md Mesbha Uddin Ali, chairman of Wega Group, has been appointed chairman of the newly constituted Board of Trustees of the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT).

The appointment was made at the board’s inaugural meeting on Monday, where members discussed key issues relating to the university’s governance, administration and future development, according to a press release.

The newly constituted board reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening BUFT’s academic and institutional capabilities and promoting the university’s continued growth and development.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of enhancing BUFT’s contribution to education and professional skills development in Bangladesh’s textile, apparel and fashion industries, the release added.

Against this backdrop, the board discussed strategic initiatives to align the university’s academic programmes and skills development efforts more closely with the evolving needs of the industry.
