Walton signs deal with Kenyan firm to expand in Africa

Star Business Report

Walton Hi-Tech Industries has signed an agreement with Kenya-based North Light Holdings to expand its market presence in the African country.

Under the memorandum of understanding, the two companies will collaborate to sell, market and promote Walton products while providing customer care services to grow the Walton brand in the region.

According to a disclosure on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website today, North Light Holdings is a private company with its registered office in Nairobi.

Walton shares were unchanged at Tk 331.10 as of 1:30 pm today on the DSE floor.

Walton, a leading listed manufacturer of electrical and electronic products, reported a net profit of Tk 1,124 crore for FY2025-26, up 8.5 percent year-on-year, according to its financial statements. The rise was mainly because of a sharp fall in bank interest expenses.

According to DSE data, sponsors and directors held 71.09 percent of Walton’s shares as of Sep 30, 2026, while institutions, foreign investors and the public accounted for the remaining shares.
