Airtel now becomes Cirkle
Robi Axiata PLC has replaced its Airtel brand with Cirkle in Bangladesh, saying the rebranding will not affect customers’ existing numbers, services, packages, balances or mobile financial services (MFS).
The new brand was unveiled at a programme at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka in the capital yesterday.
All Airtel users will automatically become Cirkle customers, while their existing 016 numbers, services, packages and balances will remain unchanged, Robi said.
MFS accounts, wallets, transactions and customer information will also remain unchanged, secure and operational, the company said.
Cirkle will build on Airtel’s 16-year presence among Bangladesh’s youth and offer affordable, digital-first services, including future propositions powered by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Robi said.
The merger between Robi Axiata and Airtel Bangladesh was officially completed in 2016, creating Bangladesh’s second-largest mobile operator under the Robi brand.
“Cirkle is the next evolution of Airtel’s journey, built for how Bangladesh’s young-at-heart generation will connect in the future,” said Ziad Shatara, managing director and CEO of Robi Axiata.
Customers will continue to receive uninterrupted service during the transition, while the new brand will offer services covering entertainment, gaming, content creation and online communities.
