BRAC Bank PLC has crossed $2.5 billion in foreign remittance inflows during the first nine months of 2026, an increase of 13.63 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.

The bank recorded a full-year record of $2.2 billion in 2025, according to a press release.

With three months of the year still remaining, the bank is targeting more than $3 billion in remittance inflows by the end of 2026, building on five consecutive years of strong growth.

Expanding international partnerships, technology-led services and greater accessibility for expatriate Bangladeshis and their families have supported this growth.

BRAC Bank has developed a global network of exchange-house partners across major remittance corridors, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.

Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, managing director and CEO of the bank, said, “Crossing $2.5 billion in remittance inflows within three quarters of the year reflects the trust placed in us by expatriate Bangladeshis and our international partners.”

“Our plan is to provide value-added services with tailor-made products for wage earners so that they can invest their money efficiently in Bangladesh for long-term financial security.”

“We will continue investing in technology, human capital and international strategic alliances to make remittances faster, safer and more convenient for expatriates and their families,” he added.

Advanced host-to-host technology integration and API connectivity with international partners have strengthened the speed, security and reliability of cross-border transfers.

Within Bangladesh, the bank’s extensive network of branches, sub-branches and agent banking outlets provides beneficiaries with convenient access to remittance services, including in rural communities.

BRAC Bank has also expanded its proposition beyond money transfers to address the wider financial needs of non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) and their families. Its specialised offerings include the probashi virtual savings account, probashi poribar account, TARA probashi poribar account and offshore banking unit services.

Eligible NRBs can open accounts remotely through digital eKYC and manage their finances using the Astha app, including transferring funds, paying bills, managing deposits and operating DPS facilities.
