Edison-TAILG launches sodium-ion electric bike

Edison Technologies on August 1 unveiled its latest lineup of electric bikes at the inaugural TAILG Bangladesh Expo held at ICCB, introducing the Rhino T53, which the company called the country's first electric bike powered by a sodium-ion battery.

The Rhino T53 marks a significant technological milestone for Bangladesh's electric mobility industry. Compared to conventional lead-acid batteries, sodium-ion technology offers enhanced safety, longer battery life, greater durability, and faster charging, delivering up to twice the charging speed and approximately twice the battery cycle life, according to a press release.

Edison-TAILG also introduced two new electric bikes featuring removable lithium batteries, allowing customers to conveniently charge their batteries at home or in the office. 

Among the launches was the Jaguar T72L, Bangladesh's first electric bike equipped with a Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) battery. LMFP technology is recognised for its superior safety, durability, and long service life, offering more than 3,000 charge cycles.

The new models were unveiled by TAILG Asia director Lin Peng (Lim), Edison Technologies Managing Director Fariza Tasnim, Edison Technologies EV unit head of business Rezaul Hasan, and TAILG Bangladesh marketing lead Sahil Khan.

During the event, Edison Technologies also announced its commitment to establishing a state-of-the-art electric bike manufacturing facility in Bangladesh by the end of this year. 

The investment reflects the company's long-term vision to create employment opportunities, accelerate the adoption of electric mobility, and contribute to the growth of Bangladesh's EV industry.
