StanChart recognised at ESGBusiness Awards
Standard Chartered Bangladesh has won two major awards -- the “Health Equity and Inclusion Award” and the “Job Creation Award” -- at the ESGBusiness Awards 2026, held in Singapore, recognising the bank’s contributions to health equity, social inclusion and job creation in Bangladesh.
These recognitions reflect the bank’s long-standing commitment and continued efforts to create a meaningful impact across the country through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, according to a press release.
Of the awards, the ‘Health Equity and Inclusion Award, Bangladesh’ recognises Standard Chartered’s long-standing commitment to improving access to essential healthcare for some of the most hard-to-reach communities and translating its corporate commitment into tangible, life-enhancing outcomes.
Through one of its flagship healthcare initiatives, the bank has supported programmes across 100 unions in six underserved and distinct geographies, including Barind, beel, char, coastal, hill tract and haor areas, directly benefiting more than 30,000 adolescents and young women and indirectly reaching a further 100,000 individuals.
The other award, the ‘Job Creation Award, Bangladesh’, acknowledges the bank’s efforts to create sustainable economic opportunities, build workforce capacity, and promote financial and social inclusion, particularly among vulnerable communities, youth and women.
Commenting on the achievement, Enamul Huque, chief executive officer of the multinational bank, said, “Receiving these two accolades is a testament to our commitment to creating meaningful impacts for communities and supporting those who need it most.”
“We are grateful to our stakeholders for inspiring us to undertake such impactful initiatives as a responsible corporate citizen,” he added.
