Top Visa official visits Bangladesh

Stephen Karpin, regional president for Asia-Pacific at Visa, arrived in Bangladesh yesterday on a three-day visit.

During his visit, Karpin is expected to meet leaders from the government, financial institutions, fintechs, merchants and the broader payments ecosystem to discuss digital commerce, payment security and Bangladesh’s digital transformation, according to a press release.

He was accompanied by Suresh Sethi, group country manager for India and South Asia at Visa.

Karpin leads Visa’s business across the Asia-Pacific region and is responsible for its long-term growth strategy, client partnerships and innovation in digital payments, cross-border commerce, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Bangladesh’s digital payments landscape is expanding rapidly, driven by growing adoption of digital financial services, e-commerce and investment in financial infrastructure.
