2 directors of Unipay-2u jailed in Ctg

A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced two directors of multi level marketing (MLM) company Unipay-2u to 10 years' imprisonment in a case filed over misappropriating Tk 3.46 lakh of an investor.

The convicts are Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury and Ayub Ali. Of them Ayub is now in jail, court sources said.

The investor Md Yasin lodged the case against three directors of the company, including Naima Jannat Chowdhury who was acquitted in the case, on June 17, 2013.

According to the prosecution, giving false assurance of double profit the trio inspired Yasin and made him invest the money. However, they misappropriated the money later.
