Killing of Jubo League man: 18 sued in Jhalakathi
A case was filed on Saturday night against 18 people in connection with the killing of Touhidul Islam, join convener of Binoykathi union unit of Jubo League, youth wing of the ruling Awami League, on June 4.
Touhidul's wife Nurun Nahar filed the case with Jhalakathi Sadar Police Station, accusing 10 named and eight unnamed people, Shilomoni Chakma, officer-in-charge of the police station, said.
On June 4, Touhidul, 35, a resident of Sanjoypur village, was killed in an attack by a gang near Gagan Bazar in Sadar upazila.
Salman, president of Binoykathi College unit of BCL, also sustained injuries during the attack, said AFM Anwar Hossain, assistant superintendent of police, Jhalakathi.
Contacted, Nurun Nahar said her husband was murdered by his rival party men, who threatened to kill him several times.
