Dev visits ailing Mithun, shares emotional tribute
Actor and Trinamool Congress MP Dev rushed to a private hospital near Kolkata’s Bypass on Friday (August 7) night to visit ailing actor Mithun Chakraborty.
Dev had returned to Kolkata earlier in the day after completing the shooting of his upcoming film “DeSu 7” in Ladakh. He went to the hospital soon after his return and met Mithun, who recently underwent surgery on his hand.
Earlier on Friday, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari had also visited Mithun at the hospital. Jadavpur MLA Sarbori Mukherjee and several others accompanied him.
Dev and Mithun have shared a close relationship for years. Despite their political differences, the two have maintained a strong personal bond. Dev has often described Mithun as a father figure and has faced criticism from political circles for his closeness to the veteran actor.
After meeting Mithun, Dev shared two photographs on social media. In an emotional post, he wrote, “You have always been like a father figure to me. Wishing you the best of health, happiness and everything you deserve.”
In one of the photographs, Mithun can be seen looking at Dev’s mobile phone screen. Dev’s post was followed by messages from fans wishing the veteran actor a speedy recovery.
The two actors previously appeared together in “Projapati”, playing a father and son. Following the film’s success, Dev expressed his wish to work with Mithun again.
Alongside his film commitments, Dev is currently preparing for his upcoming Puja release. He is serving as its producer and actor and is also set to make his directorial debut with the film. He also continues to carry out his responsibilities as an MP.
